Psychiatry: Compassionate Care for Lasting Wellness
Psychiatry offers a pathway to mental wellness through understanding, individualized care, and supportive guidance. At its core, psychiatry focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental health conditions by addressing the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence well-being. Unlike many other treatments, psychiatry provides a holistic approach to healing, aiming to foster long-term balance and resilience.
At Navigating Your Mind, we provide comprehensive psychiatric services in Idaho that cater to children, adolescents, and adults. Our goal is to offer affordable mental health care with a focus on treating conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, and low self-esteem. Led by Dr. Richard Ferre, our psychiatry services offer a personalized approach that may include talk therapy, lifestyle changes, and medication management when appropriate.
For many individuals, psychiatric medication can play a critical role in alleviating symptoms that interfere with daily life, creating a foundation for stability and growth. Through careful evaluation and individualized treatment plans, we aim to help individuals achieve emotional balance, improved mental clarity, and an enhanced quality of life. Whether you’re dealing with stress, mood disorders, or long-term mental health challenges, Dr. Ferre is here to support you on your path to wellness.

We are currently accepting new psychiatry and medication management clients at a discounted cash rate of $150 per hour.
We believe that high-quality psychiatric care should be accessible and affordable. Dr. Ferre offers private pay services at a highly competitive cash pay rate of $150 per hour, significantly lower than the national average for psychiatric care.
Do we accept insurance for psychiatric care and medication management?
Yes - We are contracted with United Behavioral Health, Aetna, Cigna, and Blue Cross of Idaho for medication management and psychiatric care.
If you are using one of these insurance providers, we are obligated to charge through insurance per our contracts with them. We are not able to offer the cash pay rate for clients with these insurance providers.
Depending on whether or not you’ve met your deductible, your insurance will ask for a different co-pay rate for sessions. We typically see co-pays as low as $30, or as high as $200, depending on what insurance company you use. We recommend calling your insurance provider to discuss the specifics of your plan before scheduling an appointment with us.
Why do we work on a cash pay basis?
There is a massive shortage of talented psychiatrists in eastern Idaho. By booking hour long intakes and half hour followup sessions through cash pay, we’re able to quickly onboard and serve the many Idahoans in need of psychiatric care. We’re able to book an intake session for most new clients within 1 week of reaching out.
Our cash pay rate is lower than national averages: The average cost of a psychiatric consultation in the United States ranges from $300 to $500 per hour. Dr. Ferre’s rate is less than half of this, making his services more accessible to individuals and families without insurance or those with high out-of-pocket costs.
For those seeking expert psychiatric care without the high costs typically associated with such services, Dr. Ferre’s rate represents an exceptional value.
